Patricia McAllister, a substitute teacher for L.A. Unified school district, said in the video below that "I think that the Zionist Jews who are running these big banks and our Federal Reserve, which is not run by the federal government -- they need to be run out of this country," has been terminated by the district.
The LA Times has reported that Los Angeles school Supt. John Deasy condemned the alleged anti-Semitic remarks by a district employee taking part in the Occupy Los Angeles protest and said she would no longer work for the school system. And that district officials would "never stand for behavior that is disrespectful, intolerant or discriminatory."
Now two things here.
1. The LA Times calls this "allegedly made".
Allegedly? Did the LA Times reporter not understand the English language that came out of Ms. McAllister mouth?
2. Are you wondering how many of the "Wall Street Occupiers" are actually employed? According to a face-to-face interview poll by Doug Schoen from WSJ, roughly 85% are actually employed.
So with that said, how many will fall to their demise, as Ms. McAllister did, as their employers are surely watching all of this.
Side note here from the Schoen peice :
-The protesters have a distinct ideology and are bound by a deep commitment to radical left-wing policies.
-Our research shows clearly that the movement doesn't represent unemployed America and is not ideologically diverse. Rather, it comprises an unrepresentative segment of the electorate that believes in radical redistribution of wealth, civil disobedience and, in some instances, violence.
-All (98%) say they would support civil disobedience to achieve their goals
And lastly:
-An overwhelming majority of demonstrators supported Barack Obama in 2008

If these people choose to protest rather than work, they should be denied unemployment compensation when they are fired!
Mark,
Although I do not agree with her stance, at all, it is my understanding this was on her free time (not on the clock) and off the property of the school she was employed.
So if we as conservatives wish to uphold free speech or better said the 1st Amendment then we must denounce this firing as un-Constitutional if the scenario as I understand it holds to be the truth.
Let us not become like the left in picking just who has free speech rights and who doesn't.
Can you feel the love with these racists?
C-P, if she would have been white and racist would that make a difference? I'm sure the school would have thrown he out on her butt if that were the case. I don't think I'd like to be a Jew and have her teaching my kids. She can say what she want but their are consicuences for our words. You can't call your bose an N-word and think you can keep your job.
Christopher, while I tend to agree with you on freedom of speech, on this matter I differ. The district never claimed she was fired over her comment. They said she was a substitute teacher and an at-will employee. Meaning you can be terminated for no reason what so ever.
I am sure the ACLU will be getting involved in getting the Anti-Semite rehired.
Firebird, I am sure she will be able to collect.
Sad, I know. :))
Point of this piece was to show that if you are out there banging the drums against business/bank/business owners, be prepared to suffer the consequences of your actions.
Leftists don't seem to understand how video works.
You are all assholes! OWS is going to make real changes in our economy. She spoke the truth. Since when does telling the truth get someone fired?
Either that, Trestin or they only want to hear what they want to hear. :)
It's only a matter of time, Chris, before all this will catch up with the Occupiers.
Anon- what by driving away the money even more?
You start threatening those who produce wealth so as to redistribute it through employment and productivity, and they will take it else where and THEN where will OWS (and the rest of us) be? In a much worse place then we are now.
You're barking at the wrong people out there. You need to get down to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. and Capital Hill, the REAL folks who brought on the dead economy, (I'll ask you to look up the Community Reinvestment Act and find out how it all lead up to the collapse)..... asshole!
@ Chris,,
-"C-P, if she would have been white and racist would that make a difference?"
No, free speech is just that and applies to all.
-"I'm sure the school would have thrown he out on her butt if that were the case"
Then the ACLU will still be involved believe it or not.
-"I don't think I'd like to be a Jew and have her teaching my kids"
No doubt, but then again this was not in a classroom.
"She can say what she want but their are consicuences for our words"
That my friend is the risk of living in a free society but something said off the clock on personal time as is the case here should remain as such and not linked to employment or lack thereof.
-"You can't call your bose an N-word and think you can keep your job"
What does that have to do with what is being discussed?
