The Last Obscene Gestures of 2010

By Judson Phillips- Tea Party Nation

In the last waning hours of 2010, the Obama regime has given America a certain obscene gesture, yet again.

First, Janet Napolitano is at it again.  She wants to make sure the border is secured and is devoting United States military resources.  Officials from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Border Patrol, were working to enforce the border.

The problem?

The border is the border in Afghanistan.  If we are teaching the Afghans how to seal their border, do you think we could seal our own?

The family of Brian Terry, Border Patrol Agent, who was murdered earlier this month, might want an answer to that question.

Barack Obama gave Americans a big flip off at the end of the year.  He took a huge family vacation to Hawaii.  Being President is a stressful job.  No one argues that.  But America is in the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.

Instead of taking an economic vacation, Obama is spending millions so he can have his two weeks in Hawaii.  Of course, the millions are not his money.  It is our money.  He could have cut the expenses considerably by staying on a military base.  This would have given him the same beachfront venue, but would have reduced security costs considerably.   No, not for Obama.  He is instead staying on a private property, about five minutes away from the military base.  Of course, he is going on base every day with his family, but why bother him with those pesky details, like saving tax dollars.

Most Americans would love to take a Hawaii vacation. Some of them would like any vacation.  Some Americans would like to have a job so they can take a vacation.  While gas prices climb through $3 a gallon and more Americans lose their jobs, Obama’s message to them is simple.  It is one last obscene gesture at the American people for 2010.  Expect more from him in 2011.

Ruled by the Few: Governed by the Minority

In my last post, I brought to light the Russian immigrants, who came to America, became citizens and members of our Republic. Most Russian immigrant flocked almost immediately to the DNC once settled in their new country, only to find out that the Democrat Party has become a very similar governing power to what they left, reflecting what todays Russia is, after the collapse of the Communist Soviet Empire.

Some have question whether the Democrat Party is like that of the current political system that governs Russia today. And that Communism, which derives itself from Socialism, is not an Oligarchy with in the modern day political spectrum, which also includes (as some say) a Republic, like the US system.

So, to clear up some confusion with some folks on where Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Nazism, Democracy, Republic and Anarchy lie within the political spectrum, I will refer you to this video that really simplifies what form of governing lies with in an Oligarchy.

Now, are we headed for an Oligarchy. AKA Communism, Socialism or Social Justice Democracy?
Or are we there?

Here is my take on what has happen the last two years that leads me to firmly believe we are at the door step of a socialist society, mostly thanks to the Democrat Party.

Socialist shares the view that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society.
AKA: The top 1%. However the top 2%-20% own most of all Capital in our country. Democrats (and yes, Republicans, too) in power fall with in that income bracket. But the Democrats target the top 1% income bracket and use taxation to strip that 1% of their wealth for social programs.

Socialist also believe in eliminating or repressing the anarchy of capitalist production
AKA: Micro Regulation of industry

They believe in interventionism
AKA: Firing of GM's CEO

Socialists advocate complete nationalization of industry with in a capitalist society
AKA: Obamacare, Federal reserve.

Socialist believe that state control of capital within the framework of a market economy is a must.
AKA: Obama czars hold power to limit pay to executives, even if they did not get federal funds for the bailouts. Obamacare healthcare exchanges.

Socialist believe that the state should have ownership models with the free market exchange"
AKA: GM, Chrysler, Obamacare

Socialist want selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies.
AKA: Obamacare, Federal reserve banks

Social democrats also promote tax-funded welfare programs and micro regulation of markets.
You name it, Obama and the Dems do it.

(This next one stands out the most)
Social democrats- Socialism, in their view, can be reached through the existing political system by "reforming private enterprise"
Healthcare, American Automotive manufacturing, micro Regulations of business.

Marxist-Establish a new socio-economic system through "rapid change"
Example Obamacare bill (HR 3200) introduced July 14th 2009, then sent to committee. July 17th 2009 it returned from committee and Obama called for it on his desk by Aug 4th 2009 to sign in to law.

We ARE being socialized.

Russian Immigrants Leaving DNC for GOP

From Staten Island Live

Many Russian immigrants to the "red borough" of Staten Island are flocking to the Republican Party, saying that the national Democrats' "socialistic" policies remind them too much of the top-down oligarchy they fled in their native land.
With many of the borough's Russian arrivees already owning businesses and active in civic organizations, their muscle could help the Island GOP solidify electoral gains made this year, when the party took back congressional and Assembly seats.

Businessman Arkadiy Fridman said that the newly formed Citizens Magazine Business Club, a confederation of more than 50 Russian-owned businesses here and in Brooklyn, has aligned itself with the Molinari Republican Club (MRC) in an effort to increase the Russian community's political and economic clout.

"We decided we had to support this club," said Fridman, a former Soviet Army officer who came to the United States in 1992. "They are very close to our political and business vision."

Fridman said that the Democrats "are going in an absolutely different direction," focusing on "income redistribution" and rich-versus-poor "class war."

The Big Brother approach reminds Fridman too much of what he left behind in the former Soviet Union.

"It's the same rule like it was there," said Fridman, who estimates there are around 55,000 Russian immigrants here.

Michael Petrov of the Digital Edge data management firm in Bloomfield, said that he objects to the "micro-managing of the economy" he's seen from city as well as federal officials.

"Government is affecting small business more and more," said Petrov, who came to the United States in 1994. "It's the same as what's happening in Russia."

Now, who better to know the direction the US has been taken by the Democrats then Russian Immigrants and a former Soviet Army Officer.
There has been only a small fragment of our country that have been warning the American people for decades about the direction the Dems want this nation to go in.
But the likes of Obama, Pelosi and Reid woke most people up the last 2 years.

Lets hope they never forget, again.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky(D-IL) on Russian TV

"Top 1% of Americans control 34% of the wealth in our country, which is more than the combined wealth of the bottom 90%"

So it’s funny how she failed to mention the remaining 2%-19% of the people that control 50% of the wealth.
Guess where Jan falls in to... that’s right, the 2%-19% Net worth $417,000 (2007)

"Who going to benefit, and who’s going to suffer."
The lazier liberal will benefit. Who’s going to suffer? Job creators.

So let’s break this down.
The top 1% of Americans, millionaires/billionaires, are at the top of the heap.
The 2-19%, which she never talked about because she falls in to that category, wants to tax the top 1% at a higher rate (Wonder what happened to all the $250K+ talk from the left?)... For what?

To make them suffer losses, to bring them down to the level of rest of the 80%... Elevating the 2-19% to the top of the heap.

Now, according to Professor G Williams Domhoff of the UofC Santa Cruz:

"the top 1% of income earners, who average over $1 million a year, actually pay a smaller percentage of their incomes to taxes than the 9% just below them."

So is this an agenda to re-distribute the wealthiest income to the middle class and poor?
OR is this bitterness by the 2-19% that they pay more in over all taxes then the top 1%?

Take a look
US Population- Net worth held
Top 1%- 35%
Top 19%- 50%
Rest 80%- 15%

US Population- Financial Wealth
1%- 43%
19%- 50%
80%- 7%

Looks like Jan forgot about herself in interview with a Russian TV reporter.

Reid Goes Gaga Over DADT

Last Saturday the Senate repealed the Don't Ask, Don't Tell (and Don't Harass, some seem to forget the last part) law that now allows Gay's and Lesbians to serve openly in our Military (even though they have been for years).

But... Senate Reid twice messaged the pop star on Twitter — shortly before the Senate voted to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" and immediately after. His first Twitter message after the vote was to Gaga, who had previously lobbied him and other senators via Twitter to overturn the controversial policy.

"We did it! DADT is a thing of the past," Reid wrote to Gaga. The singer didn't directly respond, though she did mark the Senate's historic vote in a separate tweet.

But that didn't discourage Reid, who cited Gaga in a Sunday press release trashing Republicans for stalling ratification of the so-called START nuclear arms treaty with Russia.

The statement listed significant events that had happened in the world since President Obama first reached agreement on the pact with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in April. Near the top of the list: Lady Gaga's meat dress, which she wore to the MTV awards in early September.

Odd, he will listen to the likes of Gaga, but not to the American people as a whole on important issues.
I guess (matter of fact I already knew) where his priorities stand... With some freak from California.

Dream Act- Shot Down in Flames

The Dream Act failed to get the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture.
It will not move forward. 55-41 was the vote.

The Tea Party was a big factor in this defeat.

Daily Kos Readers Head Explode Over Tax Cut Extension.

Got to love this. The loony liberals over at Daily Kos are frothing at the mouth because their socialist utopia is crashing in a heap, and there is nothing that can be done to stop it.

Read on:

“On the upside, the President's tax cut deal provides 13 months of unemployment insurance benefits, extends middle-class tax cuts, delivers targeted tax incentives for increased business spending including in the energy sector, and adds on top of that $120 billion in temporary tax cuts that are sure to have a stimulative effect.

On the downside, Republicans refused to allow the tax cut deal to go forward without continuing the irresponsible Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, including an egregious slashing of the estate tax. And there are serious questions about whether the Social Security payroll tax cut will ultimately jeopardize Social Security.

But now, whether you thought it was the best of a bad situation and a necessary evil or if you thought it was a bad deal worth fighting to the end, it's about to become law, having passed the U.S. House of Representatives on a 277-148 vote just before midnight eastern time."

Interest comments to boot:

-This POS is directly from Obama.

-No one else is responsible for selling out America

-Obama is the one.

-Someone keep a close eye on BO!

-The debt ceiling is the hostage

-The debt ceiling increase will be fun

-Do you mean if people blamed Republicans for the Senatorial clusterf*ck we live with the answer might be to move left? Now that's a novel idea.

-Moving to right loses us elections.

-Obama is on Boehner's side. If he wanted to oppose him, he would have done so. He's had two years to lay out an alternative vision, two years to hold the Republicans accountable. Instead, he shat on the left and resuscitated the GOP. As a Democrat, Obama is an epic failure.

-Whatever it is... ..they know they have a willing enabler in the White House.

-This is now the Obama/McConnell tax cut for the wealthy

-Reid couldn't get votes after Obama scuttled everything by going public with his desire to compromise with the Repigs

-Now losing is winning. Time for a new party where winning is winning.

-Of course folks care about poor people. Like the 99ers. And the rest of non millionaires once this irresponsible tax package reeks havok of the economy. Sorry that I don't see a 13 month boost for a small % of people as worth the long term devestation for all..

-The omnibus budget bill is now being held hostage. And the Dems have....blinked

-Obama being attacked from his own side and the left fragmenting as it's doing at the moment is not good for the country

-I have no personal agenda for Obama but i've got tired of the nonsense on here this last few weeks making him out to be the enemy

-Are you referring to Obama? He has replaced the American flag on the white house with a white flag of surrender.

-This bill is BUSH*T !

-No it is OBAMASH*T

-Which Hostage will Obama give the GOP

-We are so fu*ked

-They are the "Obama Tax Cuts" effective January 1.

-Get out your pitchforks

-Goodbye Mr. Obama No way he gets re-elected now. He's sealed his fate. This is complete bullsh*t, and it's not going to get either refought or fixed in 2012.

-Wall Street still rich, and white rednecks are still angry at the black man in office? Support Obama all you want. I'm not anymore!

-Right now? I'd take "Noted Weather Vane" Mitt Romney over Barack "F*ck the Base" Obama.

-It's a disgusting how Candidate Obama atrophied into this centrist blob who doesn't want to fight for Democratic principles

-You are blind to the truth, and the Judgment Day is coming for Barack Obama. And it will be ugly

There is SOOOOOOOOOOO much more. Check it out.

$1.3T Budget- RIP: Update Bush Tax Cuts Passed

Thanks god Senators got right for once.
The $1.3T Omnibus Bills is dead, thanks to GOP pressure and pressure from the American people.
Harry Reid finally lost one and deservedly so.

Bowing to pressure from both to Republicans and Democrats opposition to a 1,924-page $1.3 trillion spending measure
packed with 6000 earmarks, Reid withdrew the bill and said he would work with Republican leaders on a smaller, short-term budget fix to avoid a looming government shutdown.

Here is all the earmarks set for this bill. It is an Obamanation that would have put this country in a whole hell of a lot of trouble beon what we are in already.
FY2011OmnibusEarmarkDatabase.xlsx

Reid, in announcing his decision, lashed out, saying that he had the support of the nine GOP senators needed to pass the measure, but suddenly that support evaporated.

"This action taken by my friends on other side of aisle going to cause people to lose their job," Reid said.
Yes, Harry, lose Government Jobs. Less Government IS a much better outlook for our Nation.

But what he doesn't say is his support among Democrats in the Senate evaporated also. And those Dems are up for re-election in 2012.

------------------Update-------------------
House just passed the Bush Tax Cut Extension and voted down the estate tax provision to it.
Now heads to Obama's desk.
Not bad, but would have preferred a permanent extension for all and a funded unemployment insurance.
Maybe in the 112th

A TSA Merry Christmas

With all the BS in this nation of our liberties being tested and in many cases stomped on, especially by the TSA at our nations airports.... We really need a good laugh with a song that sings and rings so true.

Enjoy!

And have a Very, Merry Christmas.(<=See that ACLU?)

The Founders Intention on Commerce

To many it's pretty clear that the purpose of the "interstate commerce clause" was to give the federal government the power to set standards and rules for business transactions in cases where no one State government could be said to have the ability.

At one time, different States had different laws regarding commerce, and buyers and sellers in different States had a difficult time determining which State's laws superseded the other's.
Even the States themselves had huge disagreements over such issues. So, the framers of the Constitution gave the federal government the power to enact laws that would balance the differences between States laws that took place between people in different States. It was supposed that the laws created by the Federal government would be somewhere in between those of the States involved. The framers had no intention of allowing the federal government to make up commerce laws outright! Furthermore, the purpose of the interstate commerce clause (among the several states) was to regulate the terms of the transaction, not the nature of the product itself, nor its price, nor it's requirement to participate in such transaction.
Supreme Court Cases in point:

-Justice Curtis, in Cooley v Board of Wardens (1851) outlines the case for recognizing, as a constitutional matter, zones of exclusive federal authority over commerce and other zones of concurrent state and federal authority.  Cooley, upholding a Pennsylvania law requiring that vessels entering Philadelphia harbor use of local pilots, applies a balancing test to judge the validity of the regulation.

-Baldwin v G. A. F. Seelig (1935) invalidated a New York law prohibiting the sale in the state of milk bought outside of New York.  New York argued the law was necessary to avoid price competition that would drive dairies into producing less wholesome milk.  The Court, more realistically, saw the law as protectionist.  Justice Cardozo wrote that when "a state tries to isolate itself economically, it must show an important interest for doing so and that it had no less discriminatory mean open for accomplishing its goal."

-In Philadelphia v New Jersey (1976), the Court struck down a New Jersey law that prohibited the importation of garbage into the state.  Concluding that garbage was "commerce," the Court viewed the law--despite its environmental justification--as unconstitutional discrimination against out-of-state commerce.  The Court held that as long as reasonable, non-discriminatory alternatives exist that serve the states legitimate interests, they must be used instead of a discriminatory ban.

-In Hughes v Oklahoma (1979), the Court invalidated an Oklahoma law prohibiting the interstate transportation of minnows taken from Oklahoma waters.  The Court rejected Oklahoma's law that states "own" wildlife and therefore wildlife is not "an article of commerce."  The law could be upheld only if the state could show it served a significant local interest that could not be furthered by a non-discriminatory law--this Oklahoma could not show.

-In Hunt v Washington State Apple Ass'n (1977), the Court determined that a North Carolina law that allowed only one grade (the U. S. Dep't of Agriculture's grade) to be placed on containers of apples sold in the state.  Washington's State Apple Ass'n contended that the law discriminated against Washington apples which are shipped in containers that include its own tougher state grades.

These are just a few cases in which two different entities, two different points of a single commerce interacted against each other and the Federal Government stepped in and came up with an understanding to help "regulate Commerce... among the several States".

But with these cases, there is one thing in common. None of them gave Congress the power to regulate commerce to the point of imposing damages for NOT participating in interstate commerce of ANY kind.
And with that, I foresee Obamacare will be struck down by the Supreme Court.
Is it time for an Enumerated Powers Act?
I think so!

Federal Judge Finds Obamacare Unconstitutional

As reported on Conservative Perspective via CNN, a federal judge has ruled that Obamacare violates the US Constitution.

A federal judge in Virginia has ruled parts of the sweeping health care reform effort led by President Obama to be unconstitutional. This is the first federal court to strike down the law, contradicting other recent rulings the law was permissible. The key issue of contention was the “individual mandate” requirement that most Americans purchase health insurance by 2014.

H/T to Christopher

U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson ruled "This case, however, turns on a typical and uncharted applications of constitutional law interwoven with subtle political undercurrents. The outcome of this case has significant public policy implications. And the final word will undoubtedly reside with a higher court.

The Laws Central requirement that most Americans obtain health insurance exceeds the regulatory authority granted to Congress under the commerce Clause of the Constitution. The insurance mandate is central to the law’s mission of covering more than 30 million uninsured because insurers argue that only by requiring healthy people to have policies can they afford to treat those with expensive chronic conditions."

Got to love Texas

Some Dems are wising up!
NICE
(Texas Tribune- VIA Gateway Pundit)
Texas Democrat Allan Ritter told associates he is switching parties next week. The move will give Republicans a super-majority in the Texas chamber.
Texas Tribune reported, via Free Republic:
State Rep. Allan Ritter, D-Nederland, is telling associates he will switch to the Republican Party next week. Ritter was not immediately available for comment.
That would give the GOP a 100-member supermajority in the Legislature’s lower chamber — a number that allows them to pass constitutional amendments and other matters without seeking support from the Democrats.
A Ritter switch would also give Speaker Joe Straus another vote in the House Republican Caucus, which could turn out to be the forum where the next speaker is chosen. Straus foes within the GOP say they want a leader who can get the post without depending, as Straus did two years ago, on support from the minority party. Straus says he has the majority of the Republicans on his side; a vote inside the caucus would prove it.
Ritter, who would have been a candidate two years ago had the Democrats had a majority, is now with Straus.
The East Texan is in a conservative district; in fact, after the Republican sweep in the latest election, his is the most conservative seat in the House represented by a Democrat. He was one of the survivors in the elections last month, a result that might have been different if the Republicans had found a candidate to run against

Weeny Weiner

I am sure you've might have already seen this, but its worth seeing again.
First off the double taxation on estate tax is just that. Doubling dipping.

But Anthony Weiner doesn't real listen to the question, he just continues to ignore the question.
Then when he gets fed up with the question, he acts just like a weener.
A dick.
A complete asshole.

From Townhall

Did you catch one key thing he said?...
"I don't want any taxes on any one, on any level"

Shall we hold him to that when he votes yea or nay on the extension?
His claims it adds to the debt....

Where in the hell have they been when they SPEND $2.5T of our money over the past 2 years?

Hypocrisy at it worse!

By the way. This shows Weiner is nothing but the same child he was when growing up.
And based on the picture below...
I bet he got his ass kicked a lot.

House Just Rewarded Illegal Behavior

The House of Representatives has just passed the so-called "DREAM Act' amnesty bill, 216-195. The battle against this legislative monstrosity now moves to the Senate, where Harry Reid has postponed their vote until tomorrow. No time has been announced.

With this, 8 Reps- Yea, 38 Dems- Nye.

Sad how they put the results of illegal behavior above giving all Americans some vision of what their tax rates will be.

Harry 'Ass' Reid will rush this piece of shit bill through the Senate and on Obama desk before Monday, I would bet.

This Administration and the 111th congress cares nothing of the well being and prosperity of those Americans who want jobs, but instead look to future votes.

And just another law the House will have to try and repeal after Jan 1.

The scorched earth agenda by the Dems, as I predicted months ago, is taking place before your very eyes.

----------------------------Update with Video---------------------------

Speaker Pelosi compared passing the DREAM Act to our Founding Fathers winning their independence...... Holy Shit! Does she really think our founders were the product of illegal behavior?

Virginia Plans to Cancel Congress' 'Authority'

A Virginia legislative proposal, introduced by Delegate Mark Cole, exempts 'all goods' from oversight by feds. And in particular, firearms that are made, sold and kept with in the boundaries of that state, mimics Montanas' and 7 other states law of the Firearm Freedom Act and not subject to federal rules because those are supposed to apply to commerce among the states.

AKA: Article 1 Sec 8, Clause 3

The rest of this can be read here.

What do you think the Obama Admin. and in particularly, Eric Holder will do?
And could this work with the Heathcare Law?

With all the push back from the states in the last 8 months, does the Feds even have enough lawyer to handle all this? LOL!

Ground Zero Church To Sue Port Authority

Back on 8/14/10 American Patriots-Defenders of Prosperity posted an article entitled "Liberals Support Muslims - Not Christians"

That article had to do with the New York Port Authority's 9 year delay in reconstructing a church that was destroyed along with the murder of 3,000 people and the destruction of New York City's Twin Towers on 9/11/01 by radical Muslims.

With that posting, some liberals who posted comments on the blog viewed the Port Authority's 9 year delay as an innocent procedural effect of rebuilding after such a devastating attack on America. However, some current revelations may shed some light on the real reasons behind the delay.

Currently, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church is suing the Port Authority to reclaim it's property that the Port Authority illegally took:
As reported in the USA Today:
On Sunday, the eve of St. Nicholas Day, 70 families of the congregation gathered near the site to light candles and pray for a way to rebuild their spiritual home amid the office towers and memorial plaza taking shape. "It's not a political statement. This is our place, and we belong there," says Mark Arey, a priest and director of interfaith relations for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Before the Port Authority pulled the plug in March 2009, the agency and the church had spent several years working on a plan for the church to be rebuilt a block from its original location. Each side says the other refused to come to terms. The Port Authority says the church wanted too much say in the design of a vehicle screening center underneath the new building. The church says the agency wouldn't finalize the swap of its original property for the new site.
"After nine months of negotiations in which the demands of the Orthodox Church continued to increase over and above what we originally agreed to, we had to make a practical decision," says John Kelly, a Port Authority spokesman.
To work on the vehicle screening center, the Port Authority has begun ripping up the 1,200-square-foot plot where the old church stood, though the agency has not bought the rights from the church to do so.

Why for 9 years has there has been a hold on rebuilding the church?
Why did the Port Authority steal the churches property?

Could it possibly be that the Port Authority is drunk with liberal power or that the Port Authority's Director, Christopher Ward is and Atheist and his goal was to outsmart the Christians and take their property?

As reported by George Demos on GeorgeDemos.com:

During this Christmas season we routinely witness the denigration of Christian values, but perhaps no outrage is greater than the fact that an avowed atheist is blocking the rebuilding of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at Ground Zero, the only house of worship destroyed on September 11.

Port Authority Director Christopher Ward has engaged in fraudulent conduct, breached the longstanding rebuilding agreement with St. Nicholas, and continued the illegal excavation of Church property, all while cowardly hiding from the press. Perhaps Mr. Ward's hostile attitude towards the Church is best explained by his own words:

"I'm probably the biggest non-believer in terms of religion. If you are not going to believe in God you have to be smarter than the people who do, because you have to answer tougher questions about why you don't."

Christopher Ward, who professes no political party affiliation, was appointed to the position of Port Authority Director by Democrat Governor David Patterson. Combine this with the support that the Ground Zero (GZ) Mosque received from the Democrat Mayor of New York and the Democrat President of the United States (all three have not spoken of any support for rebuilding the GZ church) would suggest to me that these liberals are against this churches reconstruction.

Does politics play a role in the reconstruction of anything concerning GZ? Of course it does. The Daily News Reported on the delays with building the memorial at GZ:
"the Port Authority ignored a secret state report completed a year ago that said its timetable was unrealistic and driven by political concerns".

With all that has been said, it appears to me that the current liberal political power and an apparent atheist in position of authority over construction in New York provide substantiated support my original post.

Deal With the Devil, or Run From the Devil

Reports from Fox News is there is a deal with the devil on Bush era tax cuts.

What's your thought?

The Obama administration, as part of last-minute negotiations with congressional leaders over the expiration of the Bush-era tax cuts, is proposing a one-year payroll tax reduction that would cut the amount contributed to Social Security from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent, a senior congressional aide confirmed to Fox Business.

News of the proposed payroll tax reduction, originally reported by the Wall Street Journal, came ahead of a White House news conference Monday evening in which President Obama renewed his calls for tax relief targeting the middle class and his criticism of making tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans permanent.

But in the end, he said, a compromise must be reached before the Bush-era tax cuts expire at the end of the year, because letting the cuts expire "would be a chilling prospect for the American people."

Ordinary Americans would become "collateral damage for political warfare in Washington," he said. "I am not willing to let that happen."
Obama outlined a deal with congressional leaders that would extend the expiring tax cuts for all Americans temporarily for two years. Unemployment benefits for long-term jobless would through next year. And a lower estate tax rate would be extended temporarily.

"I have no doubt that everyone will find something in this compromise that they don't like," he said, but "we cannot play politics at a time when the American people are looking for us to solve problems."
Democrats have generally argued that the tax cuts should not be extended for the wealthiest 2 percent, while Republicans argue that the cuts should be extended for all taxpayers.
Sources tell Fox News that a payroll tax reduction, if approved, would take the place of the Obama-backed "Making Work Pay" tax credit that gave up to $400 to individuals and $800 to couples through the economic stimulus package. Obama had pressed for an extension of the tax credit, but Republicans objected.

Texan Calls for Jail Time for Enforcing Obamacare

Texans take their rights seriously.
A bill that has been prefiled for the 2011 state legislative session creates penalties of up to $5,000 in fines and up to five years in jail for anyone guilty of the "felony" of attempting "to enforce an act, order, law, statute, rule or regulation" of Obamacare, the president's plan that effectively nationalizes the health-care decision making process.
At least, that is what the bill that "relates to federal health care legislation" says:
The federal Act:

(1) is invalid in this state;

(2) is not recognized by this state;

(3) is specifically rejected by this state; and

(4) is null and void and of no effect in this state.
It provides that "a person who is an official, agent, or employee of the United States or an employee of a corporation providing services to the United States commits an offense if the person enforces or attempts to enforce an act, order, law, statute, rule, or regulation of the United States in violation of this chapter."

It explains that the "assumption of power by the federal government in enacting the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590; Pub. L. No. 111-148) as amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872; Pub. L. No. 111-152) interferes with the right of the people of this state to regulate health care as they determine is appropriate, and makes a mockery of James Madison's assurance in Federalist Paper Number 45 that the powers delegated to the federal government are 'few and defined' while those that remain in the state governments are 'numerous and indefinite.'"

The States are fighting back.
20 have joined a legal challenge to Obamacare.
1 is going it alone.
And Wisconsin might join the 20 in Florida.
Missourians have passed a proposal similar to Virginia's law.
Got to love Texas determination to jump in the fray!
