-The president assured the nation that the U.S. military will begin its drawdown next month from a "position of strength"
Who in their right mind pulls back from a position of strength?
If you are in a position of strength, you press on to victory, NOT retreat.
-"We have put Al Qaeda on a path to defeat, and we will not relent until the job is done,"
Either we will not relent or we will. Which is it? Al Qaeda is not defeated, but we are drawing down, so therefore we will relent.
-Obama also affirmed that his interest is "nation-building here at home," not in Afghanistan.
And a poor job he is doing of it here at home.
-Obama claimed intelligence recovered from the terror leader's Pakistan compound revealed that Al Qaeda is under "enormous strain." Obama said bin Laden had expressed concern that Al Qaeda could not replace senior leaders who were killed.
Doesn't seem to be enormous strain, because they just replaced OBL with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Which means there is more work TO BE DONE!
-Obama said the talks must be led by the Afghan government, and Taliban members who want to integrate must "break from Al Qaeda, abandon violence and abide by the Afghan Constitution."
And if they don't, then what... Did the current Afghan government attack us on 9-11? Did the current Afghan government give safe heaven to Al Qaeda?
The Taliban did and until the Taliban and Al Qaeda are annihilated in the whole region, there will be no peace for America. The Obama Administration and the American left just don't understand this fact.
-Anti-war Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., scoffed at the president's announcement, saying such a reduction in 2011 would "not even get us back to pre-escalation levels." She suggested withdrawing 50,000 combat troops and is planning several amendments aimed at de-funding the mission.
Can you say Vietnam, people?
See where this is going?
How sad these pathetic liberals are.
They have no pride in our country
No real pride for our military because actions speak louder than words, folks.
Al Qaeda and the Taliban will claim victory. Once from the USSR and then again over the USA
So in closing…
IS THIS A RETURN TO THEIR PAST IN AFGHANISTAN?
