NPR has terminated its contract with Juan Williams, one of its senior news analysts, after he made comments about Muslims on the Fox News Channel.
NPR said in a statement that it gave Mr. Williams notice of his termination on Wednesday night.
Juan writes opinionated columns for the Washington Post, New York Times and The Wall Street Journal AND is a Fox News Contributor.
The move came after Bill O’Reilly asked him to respond to Bills opinion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said,“The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”
Juan, reply below:
Now I personally don't like it when Williams is on Fox News. But Fox being a 'Fair & Balance' news operation, with opinionated shows, has people on with a different opinions then mine and he comments on his opinion, when getting on an airplane and "I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
NPR excuse... "the remarks were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”
IMO, as I have stated before, the left are so spooked about the events of 9-11 that NOTHING should be said about Muslims or they will attack again.
This attitude IS a admission by the left of jihad victory by radical Islam.

This sure has ruffeled some feathers and should be no surprise really. NPR went after Mara Liason to stop appearing on Fox period (I guess she's next?).
This to me is more then NPR "admission by the left of jihad victory by radical Islam", but an admission that they themselves are the islmophobics in that they FEAR islam itself.
It never fails, whatever the left accuses the right of being in derogotory terms they always prove themselves to be.
" they themselves are the islmophobics in that they FEAR islam itself."
Exactly Christopher!!!
Did hear what the AIR (American-Islamic Relations) said about Willaims comment?
I have updated this post with what has been reported on Fox this morning.
They love to accuse people of using the word "All Muslims" when people refer to how those who carried out the attack were Muslims.
This is going to boil over quickly. And the left are the ones who are cause the heated debate.
Well like you, I am no big fan of Williams but as far as I am cocerned he is better off without NPR.
This should really send a signal to all journalists be they working or in school that the government intends to control their voice be it in print or broadcast (TV/Radio/Internet) and that includes your private life outside of their direct employment.
They are the ones they were waiting for, I wonder now if Williams is pleased with what he got?
"I wonder now if Williams is pleased with what he got?"
Excellent point Christopher. I was wondering that same things as I was preparing this post this morning.
AND will Williams see the light and go right, like Dick Morris did. :)
There are many times that I just turn off FOX News when Juan is on and he spews his drippy liberal insanity...but today I was enraged to learn that the Liberals fired Juan over his 'personal feelings' and his 'opinion'.
Yet there is another side to this...perhaps it wasn't ONLY Juan's free speech that was violated, perhaps his civil rights, also.
His own race has even called him an 'Unlce Tom':

and this one:

So liberals don't allow another liberal to 'speak' of opposing "feelings"? They have gone way off the deep end!
Finally, it has come to light that our 'tax payer' funded radio station (which should NOT be partisan in any way to receive our tax dollars) Has a new name today:
"National Progressive Radio".
This without question, AP, is a clear attack on freedom of speech by NPR.
On the left side bar of the blog I had a link to NPR's reading the Declaration of Independence.
Out of respect to our rights to freedom of speech, I have removed NPR's link and replaced it with an Audio wedge so there will be no more links to this socialistic website funded by our tax dollars.
Two can play those types of game.
The fed needs to stop funding this liberal organization. They are showing their true colors now.
Chris, I am hearing that Demint will introduce a bill to defund NPR. Might not happen this session, with this make up of Congress.
